Social Welfare collaborates with parents in preventing the misuse of new technologies

25 April 2017
Bienestar Social colabora con los padres en la prevención del mal uso de las nuevas tecnologías

Registration is free and professionals from the UPCCA and the Local Police of Benidorm

The councillor of Social Welfare has scheduled for Thursday, April 27, at 17:30 at José Llorca Linares Social Center, the workshop 'Parents 2.0: how to prevent misuse of new technologies' organized by the Unit for Community Prevention of Addictive Behaviors (UPCCA), with the collaboration of the Local Police of Benidorm.

With this initiative, Social Welfare aims to provide parents with concerns to learn and improve in their educational work, tools to be able to know the possible dangers that may be faced by minors in the network and proportional measures of protection and prevention and to inform of the different types of responsibilities that young people (or their parents or guardians may), depending on the action or the age of the minor.

The UPCCA proposal seeks to train parents to identify possible addictive disorders in relation to ICT (Information and Communication Technologies), to know the differences between their adaptive and maladaptive use, irrigation factors, etc. In addition, resources and guidelines will be provided to prevent this type of behavior.

The workshop is totally free and will be taught by professionals of the Local Police of Benidorm and UPCCA. The inscriptions can be made at the premises of the Social Welfare Department in Pintor Lozano Street, on the telephone 966 500 931, or by sending an email with personal data to upcca@benidorm.org.
