Ten projects will compete for a prize valued at 10,000 euros with which to shoot their short film in the city

The Skyline Benidorm Film Festival ‘Short Pitch’ Contest already has finalists

El Concurso de ‘Short Pitch’ del Skyline Benidorm Film Festival ya tiene finalistas

Skyline Benidorm Film Festival ‘Short Pitch’ Contest already has finalists. Ten projects in the development or pre-production phase will be measured to win the contest prize, valued at 10,000 euros for the filming of the project in Benidorm, as reported today by the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, and the director of the festival , Beatriz Hernández.

The mayor has indicated that “with the presentation of the ten finalists of the 'Short Pitch' and also of the nine works selected for the Script Contest, the fifth edition of the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival is already facing the final stretch towards the inauguration, which will be this Friday". Ahead, "ten days of free and free screenings and parallel activities, part of them specifically aimed at young audiences."

Pérez has stressed that "the 'Short Pitch' contest is a unique opportunity for projects that have not yet been shot, because through the award, rental and service companies of the Valencian Community make their equipment available to the winner, jobs and services so that this work becomes a short film and sees the light next March ”.

In fact, he recalled that “the winning project of last year's 'ShortPitch', 'Este verano y el resro' by Dani Toledo, is one of the short films that will compete in the Official Section of this 5th edition, as will another of the finalist works for 2020, 'El amor amenazado' by Héctor Herce ”. Both shorts have gone through the recent Malaga Film Festival, which shows "their quality and the very correct criteria that the jury of Skyline Benidorm Film Festival had when last year it recognized them and included them in its 'ShortPitch'".

As announced by the festival director, the finalist projects for this edition of the ‘Short Pitch’ are: ‘Atzar’ by Juan Vicent Doñate and Lluerna Creació Audiovisual; 'Cae la noche' by Julú Martinez and Kabiria Films; ‘Intercanvi’ by Alberto Evangelio and Beniwood Produccions; ‘Jerusalen’ by Marina Velazquet and Jaibo Films; ‘Calcetines’ by Noelia Fluxá / Julie-Estel Soard and Juno Media; ‘Los besos que perdí’ by Marcos Chanca and Beamos; ‘Pálpito’ by Marisa Crespo and Moisés Romera and Proyecta Films; ‘Alumbramiento’ by Imanol Ortiz López; ‘Pieds Noirs’ by Priscilla Rubio Ramírez and Marallavi Films; and ‘Real Fake’ by Thomas Barrera and Blauflamencos.

Hernández has indicated that the organization has chosen these finalists "among the 32 works that were submitted to this contest."

Likewise, he referred to the nine projects that will compete in the Script Contest, "a commitment to promote and support new creators, for which 189 proposals were received and which this year is developed in two categories: Fiction and Documentary". each endowed with a prize of 450 euros. In the first category, the jury must choose between "Hola, mamá!" by Pedro L. Navarrete; '4 quesos' by Rebeca Serrada; 'Spider Crab' by Santi Capuz; "Esto no es Noruega" by Paco Cavero; 'Demiurgo' by Ana Piedra; ‘Des-integración’ by Héctor Martín and ‘Oensamiento mágico’ by Eva Saiz. The finalists in the Documentary Script category are ‘Los Hombres buenos’ by Maribel Núñez and Erica Delgado and ‘Jërë-Jëf (Gracias)’ by Juanjo Clausell and Edgar Bernad.

The Councilor for Culture has invited “residents and tourists who accompany us these days to consult the complete program of the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival on the event's website, www.skylinefest.es, and enjoy the great cinematographic stories that fit in less than 30 minutes ”.
