The mayor welcomes young people from 16 countries who for two weeks will know the cultural and leisure offer of the city and the Costa Blanca

The second Lions Costa Blanca Camp starts in Benidorm

Arranca en Benidorm el segundo Lions Costa Blanca Camp

The Assembly Hall of Benidorm City Council has been the place chosen for the official opening of Lions Costa Blanca Camp 2018. It involves young people from 16 countries and has been organized by Lions Club of Benidorm with the collaboration of the rest of Lions Clubs in the province and the support of Benidorm City Council. The event was attended by the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; the president of the district 116 of the club, Paula Gundín; the president of Lions Club Benidorm, Pilar Ribagorda; the director of the Lions Costa Blanca Camp, Vicent Saval; and other collaborating entities. The event was also attended by the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángela Llorca, and the councillors Lorenzo Martínez, Mª Jesús Pinto and Paquita Ripoll.

In his words, the mayor recalled that Benidorm "has much in common with the Lions Club because we are an international city where citizens of 135 nationalities live together". Toni Pérez highlighted the character of Benidorm. "An open city," he said, "receives more than five million tourists every year", "welcoming" which wants visitors to make themselves at home "and above all" solidarity, and never hesitate to take care of those who they need it most. "

Toni Pérez is "convinced" that the stay in Benidorm of the Lions Costa Blanca Camp 2018 "will be satisfactory and productive", and is confident that, after this visit of the city, young people will be "great ambassadors of Benidorm as they already are of Lions Club Internacional ".

The young people who share this edition of Lions Costa Blanca Camp will stay for two weeks at Lope de Vega International School. From there they will visit the most important enclaves of the Costa Blanca. In addition to Benidorm, they will visit Alicante, Calpe, Elche, L'Alfàs del Pi, Callosa d'En Sarrià, El Campello or Guadalest. In the cultural program highlights the visit to MARQ (Provincial Archaeological Museum of Alicante), MACA (Museum of Contemporary Art of Alicante) or the Villa Romana in l'Albir.
