Samara Tamames González, winner of the National Award for new talents of Moda Baño 2019

30 June 2019
Samara Tamames González, ganadora del Premio Nacional de nuevos talentos de Moda Baño 2019

The young Samara Tamames González, a native of Salamanca, was the winner of the second edition of the National Fashion Fashion-New Talent Awards 2019 of Spain, organized by Mediterranean Fashion Beach (MFB), in collaboration with Benidorm City Council. Samara obtained a check valued at € 3,000 and a Fashion training scholarship at the Chamber of Commerce in Madrid. Beatriz Álvarez Guallarte (Badalona) won the first runner-up and Juncal Martínez Beiro (Langreo), the second.

This second edition was developed in Paseo Tamarindos in Benidorm, an idyllic place of the Mediterranean, whose catwalk had as backdrop the magic skyline of Benidorm. The event was attended by the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the councillors Lorenzo Martínez and Ángela Zaragozí, who together with more than 300 guests, enjoyed an explosion of creativity with the creations of the eight finalists who paraded along the catwalk and were selected from more than 300 designers from all over Spain.

Dolores Font Cortés, patroness of the event, presented at this gala a visual show with her designs and bathing trends for this season, in which Marian Ávila from Benidorm participated as a model. The gala was conducted by the prestigious television presenter Patricia Betancourt and the soundtrack was given by Helena Valkyr. In addition, the winner of the 2018 edition, Yvan Andreu, prepared a collection specially made for the gala.

The most exclusive moment of the night came with the lingerie and swimwear designer Manuel De Gotor, a reference for three decades who presented, in Benidorm and exclusively, 'Recuerda el desfile', a commemorative fashion show of the 30th anniversary with his best creations since the nineties to the present.

The gala was enlivened by the Spanish Boy Band UNIQUE and was attended by fashion professionals, 'influencers' and specialized journalists who gave media coverage to one of the most prominent fashion events in the national calendar.

The National Award distributed important prizes and incentives valued at € 20,000 and among the members of the jury attended, together with Dolores Font Cortés, Carmen Torres Pérez, general secretary of Moda España; Daniel Martín Rabaneda, creative director of Ángel Schlesse; Esperanza Garbajosa Rodríguez, technical director of Creaciones Venus de Madrid; and Nuria De Miguel, current director of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Madrid.

The rest of the young talents that chose to win this contest for designing and making swimwear were Belén Pericét Medina (Córdoba); Barbora Cajko Vicova (Bratislava, Slovakia); Amanda Blanco Moreno (Cádiz); Fernando Manuel Usero Rodríguez (Seville) and Patricia Perales Richt Steiger (Palma de Mallorca).
