Seguridad Ciudadana y Fiestas coordinan el dispositivo de seguridad para la celebración de las Festes Majors Patronals

Benidorm Local Police Station hosted a coordination meeting this Monday for the security operation leading up to the Festes Majors Patronals (Festivities), which will kick off this Friday with the official lighting ceremony, the fair, and the traditional market, followed by the massive "Entrada de Penyes" (Parade of Clubs). The meeting, attended by the councillors for Citizen Security and Festivities, Jesús Carrobles and Mariló Cebreros, included representatives from the Local Police, National Police, Fire Department, Red Cross, and Civil Protection, as well as representatives from the Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals (Festivities Committee) and the Associació de Penyes Verge del Sofratge (Association of Clubs of the Virgin of Suffrage).

Although the first events will begin on Friday, the official program of Benidorm Patron Saint Festivities will run from Saturday, November 8th to Wednesday, November 12th, dates that will include dozens of religious and festive events, as well as music and fireworks.

Both councillors explained that, in this meeting, “the entire program was reviewed event by event to assess the needs in terms of both resources and personnel, to guarantee that all events proceed without incident and with all the safety measures within our reach.”

Traffic restrictions

On the other hand, the Mobility Department has announced that Emilio Ortuño Street will be closed to traffic from this Monday until Sunday, November 16, due to the setup of the market stalls.

The same sources indicated that this will be the main road closure affecting traffic, as the others will be temporary closures of some streets, such as Venus, Ruzafa, and Jaime I, which will occur during the main festival days due to the various events scheduled in the program, such as the mascletàs (firecracker displays), street parades, and the Humor and Float Parades. They also noted that, depending on the number of people attending, there could also be some temporary closures in the vicinity of the fairgrounds, where the funfair will be located.
