El Gabinete Psicopedagógico se mantiene activo vía telefónica para atender a las familias en temas psicoeducativos

Benidorm City Council is going to keep the care service for families with children of school age active for psychoeducational issues provided by the Municipal Psychopedagogical Department. As explained by the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, "as long as the current situation caused by the coronavirus lasts, this service will be provided by telephone and email, since we consider it essential that families that had been using it continue to have the support and attention of professionals, as well as that the rest of the school community of Infant, Primary and Secondary may have it ”.

Given the situation of isolation derived from the COVID-19 that "has led families to be even more participants in the day-to-day academic development of their sons and daughters', " the Municipal Educational Psychological department "will expand its habitual scope of action" . Thus, in addition to its usual functions, the Department “will advise families who wish to do so on school tasks and how to supervise them; on how to attenuate the psychological effect that isolation can produce in minors, which can manifest itself in the form of fear, frustration or anger; or about how to contribute to the planning of schedule habits or study techniques ”.

This Department will also carry out "a work of coordination with schools to unify criteria when working with students", will "follow up via phone and email the students who already used these services"; and, in short, "resolve any questions or queries to make the situation more bearable at a time as complex as the current one."

Moreno pointed out that this service has two psychologists focused on Early Childhood and Primary Education stages, to which professionals from the Absenteeism Program and the Municipal Program for the Prevention of Absenteeism and Promotion of School Coexistence.

The mayor, Toni Pérez, stressed that "from the City Council we are working so that families of Benidorm have the greatest possible support and services in a situation as complex as the one caused by the coronavirus crisis", and he thanked "the professionals of the Municipal Psychopedagogical Department their effort so that the school community also has a quality service these days ”.

The Psychopedagogical Department is available to families from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 14:00 on the phones: 690 34 80 06 and 96 681 54 71. You can also contact us at gpm@benidorm.org.
