Una placa recuerda la visita de la Virgen de los Desamparados a Benidorm

Yesterday Benidorm dismissed the patroness saint of Valencia, the Mare de Déu dels Desamparats, after staying for a week in the city. A week in which the events have been held in honor of 'La Geperudeta' and the Virgin of Sufragio, and yesterday put the end with the discovery of a plaque in memory of her visit in Malpás street at the hands of Mayor Toni Pérez and the parish priest of San Jaime church, Juan Antonio González after the mass celebrated in the parish church.

Later, and accompanied by the Virgin of the Sufragio, the Mare de Déu dels Desamparats was taken to Paseo de Colón, from where she departed back to Valencia.

The visit of the Mare de Déu dels Desamparats has coincided with the celebration of the 'Holy Year Vicentino' -of which the parish of Sant Jaume and Santa Ana is a jubilee temple- and with the 70th anniversary of the journey of the Virgin of Sufragio to the capital of Túria.

At the end of the mass it was announced that next Saturday, October 20, Benidorm will return the visit to the Virgen de los Desamparados.
