The 20 people who have participated in the 'Benidorm XI' Employment Workshop finish their services for the Benidorm City Council this week after completing their training and obtaining the professional certificate. The mayor of the city, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Employment and Local Development, Mónica Gómez, have held a meeting with some of the participants to learn about the work they have done during the twelve months of the program and hear their impressions. about it.

The 'Benidorm XI' Employment Workshop began in January of this year, with the Council hiring twenty unemployed people to train them in the two modalities selected for the project: 'Auxiliary operations in the organization of activities and operation of facilities sports' and

'Auxiliary activities in gardens and garden centres'

Each of the specialities has had 10 students who throughout the year “have been combining theoretical training with practice so that during the 12 months that the workshop has lasted they have not only been able to learn but also deploy in the field the knowledge acquired in the classroom”, as the mayor has highlighted. In total, throughout the year, students have had 1,920 hours of training, alternating with work or professional practice, which is aimed at learning, qualification and acquisition of professional experience.

Thus, both the first mayor and the person responsible for Employment and Local Development have been able to see on the ground some of the actions carried out by the gardening students in green spaces in Benidorm and, in the case of the workshop related to the activities and sports facilities, have seen them carry out their work in the Children's Traffic Park. After the visit to the participants, Toni Pérez wished them that “participation in this workshop will now open up a new range of possibilities for access to the labour market” and also encouraged them to “continue improving their training” in these or other professional fields.

For her part, the Councilor for Employment and Local Development highlighted that "with this there are now eleven Employment Workshops that the City Council has promoted to improve the employability possibilities of the participating people, being aware that the labour market "It is increasingly demanding and demands profiles that accredit formal training or qualifications such as those that the 'Benidorm XI' students will obtain at the end of the program."

Likewise, the councillor recalled that to carry out the 'Benidorm 12 months that they have performed their services.

Finally, Mónica Gómez has announced that the City Council is already working on organizing a new Employment Workshop, the 'Benidorm XII', to "continue with the work we have been developing to improve the employability of many of our neighbours." It will start in the coming days and, like the previous ones, will also last for one year.
