The mayor welcomes María Bas and Mark Dasousa “convinced” that on May 11 they will repeat the success of Benidorm Fest

Nebulossa says goodbye to Benidorm before leaving for Malmö to represent Spain in Eurovision

Un momento de la recepción.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, welcomed María Bas and Mark Dasousa, members of Nebulossa group, at the city's Town Hall this Tuesday, in what will be one of their last stops before their departure to the Swedish city of Malmö to represent Spain in the Eurovision Festival. The mayor is “convinced” that on May 11, María and Mark will repeat the success obtained last February at Benidorm Fest, when they won the 'Bronze Microphone' with “the affection and the support of the entire public.”

The reception took place in the Mayor's office and the Councilor for Festivals and Events, Jesús Carrobles, as well as the Director of Communication and Participation of Spanish Radio Television, María Eizaguirre, also participated, who were later joined by the Minister of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism of the Generalitat Valenciana, Nuria Montes.

“I am convinced of their success,” stated the mayor, who also pointed out that, “no matter what happens, they already have first place because they have already conquered not only the Spanish public but also a large part of the Eurovision audience. Furthermore, Toni Pérez has stressed that "this is a complete success: for them especially in their professional career, but also for us because it is the winning song of Benidorm Fest and we are proud."

The first mayor informed María and Mark that Benidorm, “within the extraordinary alliance that represents Benidorm Fest, together with RTVE and the Generalitat Valenciana, we have programmed a lot of activity around that celebration of May 11 both there, in Malmö, as for those of us who stay here.” Likewise, he highlighted that thanks to all these acts, “we will have the opportunity to share many moments with them, even if it is from a distance.”

For their part, the members of Nebulossa have reported the “good feelings” received from the public. Among them, are those from the European tour that began last weekend in Amsterdam and Stockholm, where hundreds of people chanted the lyrics of 'Zorra'.

"What is happening to us is incredible," said María Bas, who acknowledged that "it was clear that here, in Spain, there was a multitude of people who supported us and followed us and now we have found that in Europe the same thing has continued to happen: the song is understood perfectly and the message has reached people because they can identify with it, so we can't ask for more."

Finally, the members of Nebulossa have thanked “the support of Benidorm Fest and RTVE” since they participated in this contest and throughout their journey towards the  Eurovision Gala.
