The traditional "apperitive" with the authorities has taken place today along with numerous recreational activities for children and young people

Nearly 5,000 club members enjoy two days of coexistence in the camping of El Murtal

05 May 2019
Cerca de 5.000 peñistas disfrutan de dos días de convivencia en la acampada de El Murtal

The department of Fiestas and l'Associació de Penyes Verge del Sofratge celebrate the traditional camping that every year calls thousands of members of the clubs and festive associations in the area of El Murtal to enjoy a weekend of coexistence. Today Sunday they have shared the "apperitive" with the local authorities, headed by the mayor, Toni Pérez, together with the councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, and members of the executive and the municipal corporation. The delegation was accompanied by the president of the Associació de Penyes, Coli Pérez, together with the president of the Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals, Roberto Carretero and the queens, Marina Carrillo and Paula Mayor, respectively.

A total of 210 supporters clubs and about 5,000 members have surpassed this year the record of participation of the camp that concludes this afternoon and that takes place in a festive atmosphere and without incidents worthy of mention. A health device of the Red Cross and a private security, operating 24 hours, has been strengthening the security device provided by the Local Police.

The campaign 'Coneixement', developed by the Community Prevention Unit in Addictive Behaviors (UPCCA) of the Department of Social Welfare, has also been present in the camp since Saturday at noon to raise awareness of the peñistas on responsible consumption. This year, in addition, the Department of Equality has installed a 'violet dot' to promote a party free of harassment.

A wide and varied program full of activities, some specific for children and young people, has been developed throughout the weekend in which gastronomic competitions, music, dance and games have not been lacking.

As in previous years, the City Council and the urban bus concessionaire have set up a special service to facilitate the arrival of people at El Murtal site and to avoid, as far as possible, the use of their private vehicles.
