Four new members join the Symphonic Band
The Musical Union of Benidorm celebrates Santa Cecilia with a tribute concert to Ennio Morricone
The Musical Union of Benidorm has celebrated this Sunday its traditional concert of Santa Cecilia, patron saint of music, with a film recital in tribute to the famous composer Ennio Morricone, who died last July. A concert that took place in Julio Iglesias auditorium in l’Aigüera Park and was attended, among others, by the mayor, Toni Pérez; the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez; and members of the Municipal Corporation.
Among the compositions performed by the UM Symphonic Band, directed by Oswaldo Olmos, some as well known as the original soundtracks of films such as' The mission ',' The good, the ugly and the bad ',' Independence Day 'or' Return to the future'.
As usual, before the concert, the four new members of the Symphonic Band were introduced, who have joined it coinciding with Santa Cecilia commemorative concert.
Next Sunday, November 22, the commemoration of the events in honor of the patroness saint of music will continue, with Santa Cecilia concert by Societat Musical La Nova, which will also be held in Julio Iglesias auditorium, a venue adapted to the hygienic-sanitary safety regulations.
