More than 350 swimmers complete the 4th Crossing Heartbreak Benidorm

More than 350 swimmers have completed today the fourth Heartbreak Benidorm Crossing, organised by the local club Finisher with the collaboration of the City Council and companies in the city. The test, with a distance of just over 3 kilometres, has been developed in the waters of the Levante beach.

Shortly after 09.00 hours, and to the sound of Elvis Presley, the test began with departure and arrival from El Torrejó. Once again, Miguel Bou, from Alphaswim, was the fastest to cover more than three kilometres of distance, crossing the finish line with 42 minutes and 10 seconds and an average speed of 4.13 kilometres. Raúl Rincón, from the Finisher, was the second to reach the shore, with a mark of 43 minutes and 46 seconds. Seven seconds later, the third on the podium in the men's category, Mateo Pesquer, from Club Tiro Pichon Elche.

The first place in the women's category went to Ángela Cerdán, from the CN Master Natural Swim Petrer, who crossed the finish line in 47 minutes and 20 seconds. As in the men's category, the second place on the podium was also won by a local athlete, Eliana Sotelo, from CD Aguaviva Benidorm, who completed the course in 49 minutes and 12 seconds. Very close, with just six seconds difference, Esther Puche, from Petrer's CN Master Natural Swim, has also reached the finish line.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros, have participated in the award ceremony for the event, in which more than 400 swimmers had initially registered. Three of the members of the quartet of swimmers from the Benidorm Swimming Club who recently broke the Spanish record in the 4x50 meter relay test in the Benjamin category have also participated in the delivery.
