More than 500 students join the school system next year in Benidorm
On Monday the registration period for Early Childhood and Primary Education opens, which will be processed electronically
Next Monday, June 8, the registration period opens in the 13 public schools and the catholic center of Benidorm for the next school year 2020/2021, in which more than 500 students join the educational system. The Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, explained that "as a novelty, and due to the current circumstances derived from the Covid-19 health crisis, this procedure will be performed, except in exceptional cases, telematically through the website that the Ministry of Education will enable ”. It will be operational at https://portal.edu.gva.es/telematricula/ from 09.00 on June 8.
Moreno reported that "in Benidorm there are 512 registered boys and girls born in 2017", which constitute "the potential population that will join the 3-year-old school system". Of these, the 72 minors who already occupy a place in the 2-year-old classrooms enabled by the Ministry have reserved their school position. Places have also been reserved for students with special educational needs, so there are 461 vacant school places in centers maintained with public funds, the 13 public schools and the catholic school.
The councillor of Education has explained that "for the next school year Benidorm has, at this moment, there are 4 classrooms less for 3-year-old children, since the Ministry has eliminated a classroom from this age in the schools: La Cala, Puig Campana, Vasco Núñez de Balboa and Mestre Gaspar López, where there will be one classroom instead of two ”. As Moreno has indicated, "these educational centers have alleged this school arrangement that leaves them with one less classroom for 3-year-old children." Although initially the Ministry has not addressed these allegations, the Inspection has requested that these classrooms be enabled again in CEIP Vasco Núñez de Balboa and Puig Campana; request that is being studied by the Regional Goverment administration.
The registration period for the 2nd cycle of Infant and Primary Education will close on June 16. On July 1 the provisional lists will be published in each center, and families will have until July 3 to electronically submit the appropriate claims on the Regional Goverment website. The final lists will be published on July 10, and families will have one month to file new claims. Finally, from July 13 to 29, registration must be formalized. If after this period the registration has not been formalized, the place will be lost.
2-year-old classrooms
As in previous courses, Benidorm will have in 2020/2021 school year four classrooms enabled by the Ministry for 2-year-old students in the schools: Aitana, Vasco Núñez de Balboa, Puig Campana and Mestre Gaspar López. The calendar and procedure for requesting one of the 72 places in P2, intended for minors born in 2018, will be the same as for the rest of Early Childhood and Primary Education. To these 72 places are added the 66 offered by the City Council in the network of municipal nursery schools and the Early Childhood Service (SAPI).
The 2-year-old classrooms are not zoned, but comprise the entire municipal area, as is the case with the Nuestra Señora de los Dolores school.
Processing
For registration and its subsequent electronic processing, the family must access https://portal.edu.gva.es/telematricula/. The only requirement is to have a DNI / NIE. The first step will be to generate the admission key, one for each minor. Then, the requesting person will receive by email the identifier and the password for each request that they have to make depending on the number of minors to register. It is essential to keep the access code to be able to consult the lists and file claims.
Moreno has clarified that "people who do not have a DNI / NIE or do not have access to electronic means may carry out the admission procedure in person on the same dates in the educational center where they request a place as the first option."
