29 December 2017
Minuto de silencio en Benidorm por la mujer asesinada ayer en Guadalajara

This afternoon, Benidorm City Council has observed a minute of silence in memory of the last victim of gender violence, the woman murdered yesterday in the town of Azuqueca de Henares (Guadalajara). With the councilor of Equality in head, Paquita Ripoll, the municipal corporation has shown in this way its firmest rejection of this social scourge.

On this occasion, the victim, aged 37, was murdered at the hands of her partner and in the presence of her three minor children. The alleged aggressor subsequently tried to take his own life without success and at this time remains hospitalized, in a serious condition, under the custody of the Civil Guard.

Paquita Ripoll has shown her solidarity with the relatives of the woman and with all the victims of gender violence in a year that she has described as "fateful". The councilwoman has also insisted that "the fight against this scourge is everyone's obligation", and has reminded all women who are going through a critical situation the existence of the telephone against gender violence, the 016, "that It is anonymous and leaves no trace on the telephone bill.
