Next week begins the programming designed by Historical Heritage for July and August, with free activities seven days a week

L'Hort de Colon is filled with music, animations, workshops and dramatized visits during the summer

27 June 2019
L’Hort de Colon se llena de música, animaciones, talleres y visitas teatralizadas durante el verano

One more summer l'Hort de Colon will be full of activities every afternoon duriong the months of July and August with a wide, varied and for all audiences program that the councilor of the area, Ana Pellicer, has presented today, and that includes music , animations, workshops and dramatized visits. As in previous years, all activities are free.

Pellicer has indicated that from the Department of Historical Heritage this program is designed "in order to put in value this enclave so unique and as precious to Benidorm as it is l'Hort de Colon, and at the same time to make available to tourists and residents a varied cultural offer that is complemented by the one already offered by the city and that we hope will be liked by all citizens. "

Animation and workshops for the little ones

The Councilor for Historical Heritage has also detailed the activities dedicated to children: workshops, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 19.30; and animations in Spanish on Fridays at 8:00 p.m., and in Valencian on alternate Tuesdays at the same time. Pellicer explained that each workshop will focus on a different activity, such as puppets, storytellers, clay, musical instruments, games or magic, which "will awaken the imagination and creativity of the little ones".

The animations will start on Tuesday, July 2, with the opening party; while the first of the workshops will take place on Wednesday, the 3rd.

Music for the elderly

The music will occupy an important part of the summer program of l'Hort de Colon. Thus, and after the good reception of last year, "Saturdays will be dedicated to jazz again, with concerts by Aral Latin Jazz and Jesús Martínez Trío; and on Sundays, to classical music, by different groups, all of them members of the Association Friends of Music of Marina Baixa ". In addition, as a novelty, on Monday there will also be "very special" musical activity, since the protagonists will be "our three bands: the Musical Union, the Illa Musical Society, and the La Nova Musical Society".

All concerts will take place from 8:00 p.m. in the garden of l'Hort de Colon.

Dramatized visits

The theatrical visits to L'Hort de Colon will take place on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights, with passes at 9.30 and 10.30. The councilor of Historical Heritage has announced that these visits have a "new script", which has introduced "the character of Pierre Boissie", father of the collector Cristina Boissie who last year bequeathed to the city of Benidorm all his artistic, furniture and ethnographic heritage, including her family library and the collection of oil paintings and drawings of her husband, the Sevillian painter Francisco Díaz.

Through these visits, the attendees will be exposed "the history of our city and the house-museum of l'Hort de Colon", in which they have located some of the furniture and objects donated by Cristina Boissie and that until Very recent dates have been exhibited at the Boca Calvari Museum.

Pellicer recalled that "year after year this activity is very successful", and to participate in it is necessary to make "a prior reservation in Hort de Colon", since the visits are designed for "groups of 12 people" .
