l'Aigüera car park includes new technological elements of information on the number of parking spaces available

The public car park of l'Aigüera has recently incorporated new technological elements that will make it easier for users to have more information on the number of free parking spaces and their typology.

Thus, two information screens have been placed outside the car park showing the number of spaces available. Both screens are located on Primavera Street and in the upper part of Tomás Ortuño Street. The new screens show triple information. On the one hand, the number of free spaces for vehicles in general, on the other, the number of available spaces for vehicles of people with reduced mobility, and, finally, the number of unoccupied spaces for electric vehicles is also shown. In addition, the entrance sign to the parking lot, which was deteriorated, has been changed to a more attractive one the same has been done with the entrance and exit fences, which now have LED lighting to make them more visible. Similarly, another screen at the entrance to the car park informs about the number of free spaces on each floor.

These elements are added to those that have already existed inside for months, such as the guided traffic system to spaces, and the license plate reader for access and exit. In this sense, the Councilor for Mobility, Francis Muñoz, highlighted that "when the City Council took charge of the management of the parking lot we already said that it would improve a lot and that new technological elements would be implemented."
Muñoz explained that the space guidance system “is very modern and allows users to easily identify free spaces and where there are not, and even the type of space.” To do this, in each corridor, the number of free parking spaces is reported and colored indicators also inform whether the space is free (green), occupied (red), or if it is for reduced mobility vehicles (blue).

“We have fulfilled the commitment to update all the technological equipment in the parking lot, and we will continue to implement improvements,” indicated the mayor, who recalled that “the automatic databases have also been updated.” Other novelties are the increase in the number of surveillance cameras, spaces for vehicles with trailers, or larger spaces aimed at family vehicles with strollers, among others.

In addition to all these elements, the modifications introduced in parking management include a significant price reduction. According to Ordinance number 44 regulating the public price for the provision of parking service in this parking lot, the general amount is now 0.317 euros per minute and 1.90 euros per hour, with a maximum amount per day of 38 euros.

Some bonuses are also included in these general prices. Resident sticker holders enjoy a 36.9% discount, so the price per minute is 0.020 euros and 1.20 euros/hour. The maximum amount per day is 28.80 euros. Likewise, clients of hotel establishments (hotels, hostels, tourist apartments, etc.) in the center of Benidorm have a discount of 21.14%, with a price per minute of 0.025 euros and a price per hour of 1.50 euros. In this case, the maximum amount for one day will be 36 euros.

The bonus of one hour of free parking when presenting a purchase receipt in shops, bars, restaurants, etc. The center of Benidorm also benefits more users, having gone from 60 euros last year to 20 euros now.
