The Symphony Band of the Musical Union (UM) of Benidorm will participate next July 14 in the XVIII International Contest 'Villa de Aranda'. The one of Benidorm has been selected along with six other bands to take part in this prestigious contest, in which they aspired to be more than 40 musical entities from all Spain and Europe.

The director of the UM Symphonic Band, Pedro Salinas, explained that the selection process has been made from "recent recordings of the different bands". It has also taken into account "the trajectory of the bands and the directors".

Salinas highlighted "the great artistic scope of the rest of selected bands," so "the mere presence on that list is already a great honor for the entity." In addition, he has assured that the selection to participate in this contest "has been a great injection of morale" for the members of the UM, and has advanced that "begins a period of work to arrive in the best conditions" to this appointment with Aranda Of the Duero (Burgos).

The Burgos festival takes place on Fridays of July and August, with a weekly concert by the different selected bands.
