'La luz presente' by Ferran Freixa, one more permanent exhibition of Benidorm Virtual
'La luz presente', a retrospective of 70 images that summarizes Ferran Freixa's professional career, bids farewell to Museu Boca del Calvari on Wednesday 15, where it has remained since April 22, although from now on it will be accessible from any place through the computer, tablet or smartphone, after digitization and virtualization carried out by the Department of Historical Heritage.
The person in charge of the area, Ana Pellicer, announced today that 'The present light' "joins" 'The accidental tourist' and 'Plural female' in the virtual catalogue of exhibitions of the Benidorm City Council with the aim of "bringing, even more, culture to the citizen”.
On this occasion, to generate the virtual tour "22 360-degree images, 70 images and three videos have been used, to which must be added the catalogue and the texts that accompany the exhibition," Pellicer said. The tour can be done “immersively” through Virtual Reality (VR), “by synchronizing the smartphone with virtual reality glasses”.
During the visit, the user, after clicking on the link, will be able to select their browsing preferences. From here, you just have to pay attention to the instructions and options that will appear on the screen and “in a very real way, almost as if you were there, you will be able to see the graphic work of this great artist who disappeared in 2021”.
Pellicer has recalled the career of Ferra Freixa "master of black and white and lover of detail" who managed to transform "everyday objects, through light, into works of art". The mayor has also emphasized the graphic documentation, "this time in color", of the remains of the Liceo de Barcelona, after the fire that destroyed it in 1994, "part of which is found in 'The present light'".
Benidorm City Council will continue to generate virtual content. "The exhibitions will go from being temporary to permanent thanks to technology," Pellicer underlined, without neglecting the possibility "of facilitating access to culture for people with reduced mobility, in line with the inclusive and integration dynamics of the Benidorm City Hall”.
