La Barqueta presents the prizes of its drawing contest

La Barqueta entrega los premios de su certamen de dibujo

Benidorm Assembly Hall has hosted the awards ceremony for the nineteenth edition of ‘La Barqueta’ School Drawing and Painting Contest, after last year's gala had to be suspended due to the health situation.
The event was attended by the mayor, Toni Pérez; the Councilors for Culture and Education, Jaime Jesús Pérez and Maite Moreno and other members of the Municipal Corporation who participated in the awards ceremony. The president of the Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals, José Vicente Fuster and the queens of the Major Patron Festivities Paula Pérez and Sofía Fuster, were also there.
On behalf of La Barqueta, its vice president, Batiste Rostoll, was in charge of opening the event and welcoming the attendees. Then, Toni Pérez took the floor to value "the talent of children" that year after year "converges in this contest" and has encouraged La Barqueta to "continue taking care of us" with experiences like this that they will tell "always ”With the collaboration of the City Council.
From La Barqueta they recalled that in the contest, which will address its twentieth edition next year, a total of 32,942 drawings have been presented throughout its history, which makes it one of the school drawing contests with the highest participation of all the country.
In this edition, a total of 1,921 drawings made by students from schools in Benidorm have been presented. Of them, 389 were selected that have been evaluated by the jury.
