The JGL approves the renovation project for Roma Avenue...

The Local Government Board (JGL) has approved today the project of 'Renewal of drinking water and sanitation infrastructures in Roma Avenue', which also includes the adaptation of the urban scene, road and sidewalks of this 320-meter long road length, located in the upper area of  Rincón de Loix neighborhood.

The Councilor for Works and the Water Cycle, José Ramón González de Zárate, explained that “with the approval of the project, the City Council is now in a position to start the bidding process for this work, which is expected to be carried out next year and with the one that we advance in the renovation, updating and improvement of the urban scene and infrastructure of the upper part of Rincón de Loix ”.

De Zárate recalled that "in the previous legislature we adopted the commitment to invest in updating this neighborhood, with a marked residential and tourist character, and we did so with the remodeling of Ametlla del Mar avenue, renovating all the infrastructures hydraulic systems and solving the historical flood problems that occurred in the area. Once this renovation was carried out, we were able to start updating the streets of the upper area, starting with London and Paris, where we have already operated, and continuing with Rome ”.

The mayor has detailed that “the approved project contemplates the renovation of all hydraulic infrastructures, acting on the drinking water, waste and rainwater network, and also significantly improving aesthetics, accessibility and lighting.

Among the actions included in this project, valued at around 700,000 euros, is the updating of the drinking water network, and the construction of a new wastewater collector and another for rainwater. In addition, the road is renewed and the size and width of the sidewalks are increased to facilitate pedestrian mobility. A linear green area is also generated in parallel to the south sidewalk of the avenue, and the public lighting network is renewed, installing LED technology to reduce consumption.
