The improvements of work in Pérez Llorca reach Doctor Pérez Martorell street

The improvements of the work of semi-pedestrianization of Doctor Pérez Llorca street will reach in the next few days Doctor Pérez Martorell street, according to what has been advanced today by the councilman of Works and Urban Escene, José Ramón González de Zárate. The action includes eliminating the architectural barriers of the whole Pérez Martorell street, and paving and repairing part of the municipal water services of the initial section, which runs from Martínez Alejos Avenue to Tugar passageway.

De Zárate has detailed that in this initial stretch the same pavement that is already installed in the street Doctor Pérez Llorca is going to be placed, while it is going to be replaced the pipes that are deteriorated. In Tugar passageway, "the concrete is going to be placed to re-create the road and leave it at the same height as the sidewalk". In addition, the paving area of ​​Martínez Alejos is also going to be repaired in which "the pavement is sunken".

The councilor recalled that the City Council has obtained these 'extra' actions because "as it is normal in the bidding processes of the works" companies are not asked to submit "economic reductions, but improvements for the city." In this way, "every time we act at a point in the city we fix the surrounding streets, or the lighting, or pipes that were not in the project, or we incorporate swings or other elements" without an additional cost for the municipal coffers.

This same model is the one that has been followed in the work of semi-pedestrianization of Doctor Pérez Llorca street. A work that, after some unforeseen in the subsoil, is "advancing rapidly to reach without problems" the next important appointments for the city, such as the Half Marathon -which is celebrated on March 3-, the offering of flowers to the Virgin of the Suffrage -day March 10- and Easter.

De Zárate insisted that Pérez Llorca's semi-personalization is "an important work", mainly because it means "the improvement of the urban scene of a street that for years has been totally forgotten despite being recognized as 'commercial' within the PAC -Plan of Commercial Action- and being located on the second line of the beach.

This work was auctioned for 469,921.60 euros and plans to make pedestrian a large section of Pérez Llorca creating a zig-zag itinerary, which will force vehicles to travel this 160-meter journey to do so at a rate much lower than today.
