The Government Board awards the works of the Ring Cyclist and the extension of Els Ametlers Park
The Local Government Board has awarded the construction works for Levante 'Cycling Ring' and the expansion of Els Ametlers-Els Tolls Park. In an extraordinary meeting held on Friday, the body has accepted the proposals of the Contracting Committee, once the projects have been informed by the municipal technicians.
According to these reports, the most advantageous offer to carry out Levante 'Cycling Ring' has been the one carried out by the Pavasal company, which will be responsible for this work for 984,128.36 euros, including the improvement: the implementation of the bike lane on Almirante Bernat Sarrià Avenue.
In total, the project, which is part of the budget agreement with Ciudadanos Group (Cs), will translate into the creation of 11 more kilometers of lanes and routes for the circulation of bicycles that will be added to existing ones and that will complete the journey from the roundabout of the European Community with Europe to the Hermitage of Sanz, through the old N-332. In addition, according to the councilor of Works, José Ramón González de Zárate, will link with the section made by the Provincial Council of Alicante on CV-753, the road that connects with l'Albir.
For this project, the City Council has obtained a grant of 400,000 euros from European FEDER funds.
On Comunidad Valenciana and Almirante Bernat de Sarrià Avenues, the bike lane will be installed on the sides of the road, since it will have a cyclist pedestrain character, while on Europa Avenue it will be traced by the center of the road following the model of Alfonso Puchades or Jaime I. On l'Ametlla del Mar, Doctor Severo Ocho, Estocolmo, Monte Carlo, Romania, Marseille and Naples, the model of a bicycle lane marked with red lines at the center of the road will be installed.
As regards Ametlers Park Phase 2018, a project included in the Participatory Budget, the most advantageous offer has been proposed by the Mercantile Categor -151.388,76 euros-, which will be in charge of expanding this green and leisure space located on Italia Avenue to complete the pedestrian route that runs parallel to the TRAM road. The action foresees the construction of several masonry walls; the installation of public lighting and the rainwater and irrigation network; and gardening and paving work.
