The Classrooms of Experience, a project included in the Comprehensive Program for the Elderly of Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) aimed at people over 55 years of age and taught by university professors, will resume their face-to-face activity on March 15.

The Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángela Llorca, has reported that “for more than a year and due to the pandemic, the Experience Classrooms have been carrying out their activity telematically; now, with the new health scenario, classes return to their face-to-face modality at 'José Llorca Linares' social centre ".

In this way, the classes, with a capacity limited to 23 people, will be taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the afternoon, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The next courses to be offered at Benidorm headquarters are Sociology (March 15, 22 and 29 and April 5); Literature (March 17, 24 and 31 and April 7); Media and technology culture (May 3, 10, 17 and 24); Political Economy (May 12, 19 and 26 and June 2); Ecology, Natural Heritage and Sustainable Development (May 31 and June 7, 14 and 21); and Law and Justice (June 9, 16, 23 and 30).

Enrollment for all courses is now open and can be done online through the link https://sabiex.umh.es/aunex/ The price of each of the courses is 12.50 euros.

All the information can be found in the following link  https://sabiex.umh.es/aunex/

Llorca has explained that this project "with a track record of more than 20 years, was born to meet the educational demand and enhance the culture and quality of life of people over 55 years of age, who do not require previous studies to be able to attend these Classrooms of Experience”. The councillor has stressed that "in addition to an opportunity to expand knowledge, the Experience Classrooms are also a space for coexistence and interrelation between people with similar interests, a characteristic that is now enhanced by recovering face-to-face activity."
