The exhibition 'The legacy of our sailors' on the Merchant Marine and its link with Benidorm will continue at Boca Calvari Museum until January 7. The department of Historical Heritage has decided to extend the dates before the good reception that the exhibition has had among the schools, which have seen in the exhibition an illustrative tool to explain students a part of the history of the city.

'The legacy of our sailors' is a review of a past full of sailors, captains, 'posits', ships, steamers and navigational charts. The exhibition has been commissioned by the director of the Historical Heritage area, Antonio Couto, and by Eusebi Chiner and César Evangelio; and is composed of pieces and objects temporarily ceded by more than 50 individuals.

The story of the exhibition, which starts with video projections and with a text by Josefina Orts i Bosch, and is articulated from the pieces as a cabin table, the sink of a steam, binoculars, horns, compasses and others orientation equipment, calculation notebooks, nautical slides, travel trunks, caulking tools or uniform garments.
