The event begins tomorrow, Saturday, its 'Gold Edition' and 25,000 attendees are expected to pass daily

Everything is ready at Benidorm Sports City to host the fifth edition of Reggaeton Beach Festival

05 July 2024
Todo a punto en la Ciudad Deportiva de Benidorm para albergar la quinta edición del Reggaeton Beach Festival

The organization of the Reggaeton Beach Festival (RBF) is practically ready for the first great festival planned for this summer in Benidorm. An event that will be held tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday at the 'Guillermo Amor' Sports City and through which, in this fifth edition, its 'Gold Edition', 25,000 people are expected to pass through each day. A municipal delegation headed by the acting mayor, Ana Pellicer, and the Councilor for Events, Jesús Carrobles, visited the facilities this morning to learn about all the details and progress of the assembly.

The councillor of Events explained that the renovation of the space on which the festival will take place, on the new 8-a-side football fields, “has greatly facilitated the assembly work as, for example, new accesses have been created for technical vehicles, production and logistics. Likewise, Carrobles explained that in this installation “the new grass has been greatly respected” in which corridors have been created “with a special rubber floor to protect it and ensure that it suffers the least possible damage”, after which he added that, Once the event is over, the company “will give it a roller so that it is in perfect condition.”

During the visit, the delegation visited different areas of the venue and saw first-hand what it is like to be, for example, in areas with a large stage 18 meters wide which, adding the sides, exceeds 30 meters wide, according to explained Carrobles, who also indicated that this stage is “along with Madrid and Barcelona, the largest that this brand sets up” in its festivals.

Furthermore, as the organization has pointed out, the Reggaeton Beach Festival will have “the latest sound and lighting technology”, in addition to central and side screens and other technological elements that add spark, bubble or confetti effects. The venue will also have 14 emergency exits and two more in the VIP areas, bars, food trucks and other rest, recreational and leisure services for the enjoyment of all attendees.

The Councilor for Events has stated that the organizers of the RBF Benidorm have been “working in Benidorm for five years on what is for them, possibly along with Madrid and Barcelona, the most powerful festival of the brand”, a statement that corroborates the fact that “We started with all the tickets sold.” According to the data provided by the organization to Carrobles, “if there were more capacity, there is even more demand and there could be 30 or 35,000 people”, a possibility that the councillor has advanced that the City Council will study for future editions. “The facility has sufficient capacity and would allow assistance to be expanded to these numbers” since “it would only be necessary to create new evacuation routes.”

Finally, Carrobles highlighted that this event is “a clear commitment to the younger audience, which the city has been trying to recover for a long time” and that the RBF is “a festival that is widely perceived in the city because it ends at 12.30 and many people then move to other areas of Benidorm to continue the party.”

Interesting information about the festival

The doors will open at 4:00 p.m., on Saturday and Sunday, with the musical activity ending around midnight.
During the first day of the festival, artists Álvaro Díaz, María Becerra, El Alfa, Tiago PZK, Justin Quiles and Tainy will perform at Reggaeton Beach, while Chimbala, Noriel, Nio García, Bryant Myers and Anuel will sing.

Around 200 people will be in charge of the healthcare and security team of the Reggaeton Beach Festival, and everything is “perfectly organized and equipped,” as explained by Jesús Carrobles, who in addition to the Events department also directs the Department of Public Service. Specifically, there will be a private security team of more than 130 people, including security guards, access controllers and assistants who will be in charge of security inside the facility. To these are added members of the Local Police – with drone flights included – and the National Police Corps, who will be present at the entrances to the venue and surroundings of the Guillermo Amor Sports City. This device is completed with members of Civil Protection in two turns.
Concerning Healthcare will have two Advanced Life Support units, both with a doctor, nurse and technician, as well as a Basic Life Support ambulance equipped with a nurse and technician and another with a driver. There will also be a field hospital, an advanced medical post and four lifeguards.

Likewise, there will be reinforcements in the transportation service to serve the public attending the festival. Specifically, starting at 4:00 p.m., the service of line 1 of the city bus from Levante to Colonia Madrid will be increased at stops such as Hotel Meliá, Edificio Albatros, Iglesia del Carmen and Avenida de Europa. Until midnight, users of this line will get off at the TRAM station, located near the Ciudad Deportiva 'Guillermo Amor'.

For attendees who want to arrive from Poniente starting at 4:00 p.m., lines 2 and 3 are reinforced on both days from La Cala de Finestrat and Bali Hotel stops. The closest stop to the festival is the one located on Panama Avenue.

Once the activity at the venue ends, starting at 00:00 there will be shuttles for lines 1 and 2 on Foietes Avenue with frequencies of 20 minutes, depending on the influx of users.

In addition, also coinciding with the closing of the event doors, around midnight on Saturday and Sunday, vehicle access to Colonia Madrid will be restricted from Estación, Capitán Cortés and Alcalá streets; restrictions that could be specific during door opening hours, around 4:00 p.m. While these restrictions operate, vehicles that want to access the neighbourhood must do so through Foietes Avenue.

For those who travel with their private vehicles, in addition to the park-and-ride parking next to the TRAM station, the industrial park will also be available on Saturday and Sunday.
