Exponentially multiplies the projects attended, which have received between 800 and 1,200 euros

The Local Government Board (JGL) has today approved the last remittance of aid for new companies and the self-employed for 2021, which closes with a balance of 139 beneficiaries and 135,200 euros granted to support the start-up of new activities in Benidorm. The Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion, Mónica Gómez, has detailed that "in this last consignment, 31 entrepreneurial projects have been attended that have been active for at least 4 months and that correspond to various economic sectors, which have received a global aid of 32,800 euros ”. An amount, she has specified, that "is added to the 102,400 euros that had already been granted in previous remittances" and that "means multiplying by six the amount granted the previous year."

The mayor stressed that “this government has always been very sensitive to the local productive fabric and entrepreneurship, even more so in a time of economic uncertainty such as the one caused by the Covid-19 health crisis. For this reason, last year we gave an important boost to these grants, doubling the number of benefits to encourage entrepreneurs to carry out their projects and activities in Benidorm and thereby generate employment and new job opportunities”.

Thus, the amount of aid for entrepreneurs who establish themselves as self-employed workers with fiscal domicile in Benidorm and registered in the city was increased from 400 to 800 euros; while the amount was increased from 600 to 1,200 euros for those who also processed a business license at the Town Hall. In addition, as a novelty, an aid of 800 euros was established for the self-employed with fiscal domicile in Benidorm, who are not registered in the city, but who process the license to open their business in the municipality.

Gómez recalled that "initially we reserved 40,000 euros for this call, an allocation that was later extended to 70,000 euros". “In the end, between the amounts approved under the budget for the year and those recognized in 2022, the City Council has allocated more than 135,000 euros to these 2021 aids to attend to all the companies and freelancers that met the requirements and that in moments of special difficulty have dared to undertake”.

The counsellor pointed out that "in addition to these direct aids, the Employment and Local Promotion Agency also supports the start-up of new business projects with other actions, providing constant advice to people who decide to take this step and offering a co-working space ' where they can start their activity”.
