Programa EMCORP

The 2021 edition of EMCORP program, with which Benidorm City Council has hired 20 unemployed people over 30 years of age for six months, has come to an end. The Councilor for Employment and Local Development, Mónica Gómez, stressed that “with this program, subsidized by LABORA, it is possible for participants to increase their professional experience and with it their employability, while this staff provides a service of general interest for citizens in different areas and municipal facilities ”.

Specifically, for half a year, six workers have performed customer service work in City Council departments, such as the Employment and Local Development Agency or social centers; while another six have served as facility guards at Palau d'Esports l'Illa, Ciudad Deportiva "Guillermo Amor" and other municipal agencies. The eight remaining participants have carried out infrastructure conditioning activities such as maintenance and painting work in educational centers, municipal facilities and public spaces.

Gómez recalled that EMCORP program is part of LABORA's Avalem Experience ’project, whose objective is to facilitate access to the job market for unemployed people of at least 30 years of age. For this program, Benidorm City Council has received a grant of € 231,120.15 from LABORA, financed with funds from the State Public Employment Service (SEPE). The people participating in this program were selected following the instructions of LABORA Order of the aforementioned program.
