The City Council and Consellería organize an informative talk next Monday

Education opens on May 17 registration for Infant, Primary and ESO

03 May 2018
Educación abre el 17 de mayo la matrícula para Infantil, Primaria y ESO

The period of application for enrollment in public schools, the subsidised center and the Secondary Education Institutes (IES) of Benidorm for next school year 2018/2019 opens on May 17, as reported by the mayor, Toni Pérez , who is in charge of the Education area. Prior to the opening of this period, the City Council, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, has convened for next Monday, May 7, an informative talk in which parents can ask all questions to the Inspector of Education . The talk will be held at 6.30 pm in the Hall of the City Hall.

The mayor explained that the department has sent letters announcing this talk to families registered in Benidorm whose sons or daughters were born in 2015, and therefore are incorporated this year into the 2nd cycle of Early Childhood Education. In addition, they have been sent a booklet with basic information about the registration process.

Pérez pointed out that "570 children born in Benidorm in 2015" and, therefore, "the potential population" that will be incorporated into the 3-year-old school system. For this level, there are 548 school places in the centers maintained with public funds -the 13 public schools and the subsidised one-, although 54 places have been reserved for the students that during this course already occupy a place in the classrooms of 2 years enabled by the Conselleria in the schools Aitana, Vasco Núñez de Balboa and Puig Campana, and that "supposedly they will continue their studies in these centers". In addition, there are six other places reserved for students with special educational needs. Taking into account those 60 reserved places, "the vacancies that are offered amount to 488 seats".

At this point, the mayor informed that for next year the Regional Ministry has expanded the offer of P2 with the creation of a kindergarten classroom at the Mestre Gaspar López school, and recalled that the deadline to request one of the 67 nursery places offered by the regional government also starts on May 17.

The application deadline for P2, 2nd cycle of Early Childhood and Primary Education will close on May 24. On June 4, provisional lists will be published in each center, and families will have two days to submit claims to the school's School Board. On June 13, also in the center, the final lists will be published, opening a term of 48 hours for new claims. Finally, from June 17 to July 2 registration must be formalized.

Secondary Education

Also on May 17 will open the period to apply for enrollment Secondary students who come from outside Benidorm, those who want to join a different IES to which they are attached or who request a change of center. This period will be open until May 28. On July 12, the provisional lists of admitted students will be published on the bulletin board of each center and claims may be submitted until the 16th. On the 19th, the final lists will be published, which may be alleged, and from July 19 to 26 they must formalize their registration.

The mayor clarified that "the students of Benidorm who pass from Primary to Secondary has reserved a place in their assigned center". To keep this place, the students "must formalize their registration" from June 25 to 28.

Pérez indicated that the applications for the three educational levels can be collected in the department of Education, or download in the municipal website and in the Conselleria (www.ceice.gva) in the icon 'student admission'. The mayor has stressed that if the registration request is made online through the website of the Ministry, families must print it and deliver it in person at the school they have chosen as the first option.

As regards the lists, families will receive provisional and final lists in their mail.
