The Digital Tourist congress organized by AMETIC returns to Benidorm
Benidorm is once again hosting the Digital Tourist congress organized by AMETIC, the employer of the Spanish digital technology sector, given the success of the 2018 edition. On October 17 and 18, the Hall of the City Hall of Benidorm will host presentations and thematic areas of debate with the assistance of the main business representatives and administrations. In this second event, the proposed theme places the tourism ecosystem and Benidorm at the center of attention of the sector as a reference forum for the digital industry for DTIs.
Five are the thematic areas that arise for the 2019 edition: Mobility, Tourist Services, Data, Public Procurement and Thematic Tourism. They seek to analyze in depth issues of mobile terminals and their applications, digitalization and provision of Intelligence, application analysis of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence to Tourism, bidding issues and innovative public procurement, as well as technology applied to tourism modalities : Beaches, Gastronomy, Heritage, Culture, Nature, etc.
At the defining meeting of the congress, held this morning at the City of Benidorm, attended by Mayor Toni Pérez, the general director of AMETIC, Francisco Hortigüela, the Councilor for Innovation, Aida García Mayor, the president of the Smart Cities Commission of AMETIC, Adolfo Borrero, the manager of Visit Benidorm, Leire Bilbao, the head of Innovation, Pedro Hernández González and the coordinator of the Benidorm DTI Manager, Celia Romero.
The congress is presented in Madrid in September.
The digital tourist will be the focus of this reference forum that is Digital Tourist, highlighting Toni Pérez the importance of the congress that “positions Benidorm at the forefront of innovation” and ensures for the world's first certified Smart Tourist Destination “a box of first level to follow the debate, acquire knowledge and test unique experiences ”.
The meeting has the participation of the City of Benidorm, and the institutional support of the Generalitat Valenciana through INVAT.TUR, the Provincial Council of Alicante, the State Society SEGITTUR, the Network of Smart Tourist Destinations, representatives of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, the Spanish Network of Smart Cities (RECI), the Network of Urban Initiatives (RIU) and the Network of Cities of Science and Innovation (INNPULSO Network).
