Benidorm continued yesterday afternoon with the events scheduled on the occasion of March 8, International Women's Day, in this case with a conference offered by Dr. Eva Ibeas with the title 'Woman, work and health'. It was attended by the Councilor for Equality, Ángela Zaragozí, and representatives of the municipal corporation.

The conference addressed the beginnings of the incorporation of women into the labor work up to the present and issues such as the glass ceiling, the gender pay gap, or the difference in the performance of domestic tasks between men and women.

Current issues such as the most common health problems in women or the use of anxiolytics as a consequence of lifestyle were also addressed. It was also revealed that, in general, women enjoy less free time and perform less physical activity than men, which affects their health.

The 8-M commemorative events continue this afternoon at 8:00 p.m. with the 'Music for Women' concert in the City Hall Assembly Hall and tomorrow, Saturday 11, a self-defense workshop has been organized at the Palau d'Esports l'Illa from 10 to 12 noon.

The events will conclude on March 20 with the Red Cross exhibition 'Women of the world', in which the Department of Equality collaborates. It will be in the Espai d'Art of the Town Hall and can be visited until March 31.
