The committee of Major Patron Saint Festivities celebrates this Saturday the traditional Euro Marathon

The committee of Major Patron Saint Festivities celebrates this Saturday, September 1, the traditional Euro Marathon, an initiative introduced in the early 90's to raise funds for the November festivities. The councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, and the president of the Committee, Paco Marín, explained today that the Marathon will open at 11.00 am and that the film on which the euro coins will be deposited will depart from La Palmera to travel the Road Walk. At this same point, the Comissió will install a bar with sandwiches and drinks at popular prices.

The councilman of Fiestas recalled that the dynamics of this initiative is "through donations of one euro, which are placed on a tape arranged on the ground, covering the greatest possible distance" of the Paseo de la Carretera.

Carrobles encouraged residents and tourists to participate in this event, "one of the many organized by the Comissió throughout the year to raise funds"; and has been convinced that with the collaboration of all this edition will repeat "the success" of previous years.

The president of the Comissió, meanwhile has indicated that the mayorales hope to beat the records of previous years, and noted that as is traditional "queens and ladies" will tour "the surroundings" to encourage participation.
