The College of Technical Engineers of Public Works celebrates in Benidorm a day to commemorate its 60th anniversary

El Colegio de Ingenieros Técnicos de Obras Públicas celebra en Benidorm una jornada para conmemorar su 60 aniversario

The College of Technical Engineers of Public Works and Civil Engineers (CITOPIC) held yesterday at the municipal center El Torrejó a day to mark the 60th anniversary of its creation, with which the Department of Urbanism has collaborated and in which sustainable solutions were addressed applied to the development and configuration of cities.

The mayor, Toni Pérez, was in charge of opening these days, which are part of the Colloquiums programmed by CITOPIC in different parts of the province to commemorate its anniversary. In addition to the mayor, the Councilor for Urban Development, Lourdes Caselles, also participated in this opening; the vice-dean of the school, Eduardo Vilchez; and the secretary of the Governing Board of the institution, Miguel Navarro.

During the opening, the mayor said that "we are aware of how much" that professionals from this field contribute in the configuration of "sustainable cities", which require "a good program that, in the case of Benidorm, is transversal" and that "involves different municipal areas". Pérez encouraged CITOPIC to continue developing activities that "give visibility" to the work of its professionals.

Two of the papers of the day focused on sustainable urban drainage systems, while the third on 'Sustainable Development in a Smart Tourist Destination' will be borne by the Head of the Engineering Department of the City Council, Vicente Mayor.
