Benidorm acoge durante 3 días la fase autonómica de las XXX Olimpiadas Matemáticas

Benidorm will become the epicenter of mathematics on the weekend of May 24, 25 and 26 with the celebration of the autonomic phase of the XXX Mathematical Olympiad. A total of 72 students from 5º of primary and 4º of the ESO of all the Valencian Community that have managed to successfully pass the provincial and provincial phases, now face for a place in the national final.

The event has been presented this morning by the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, along with the director of the International School Lope de Vega, Aura González and the teachers of the department of Mathematics of the center, Davinia Gómez and Manuel Valero. The International School Lope de Vega is the host of these Olympics that have a full program of activities that include visiting emblematic places of the city, and in whose organization has had the collaboration Benidorm City Council.

The mayor has presented the event as "an educational activity that will flood the urban fabric of Benidorm with mathematics and that will transit through outdoor spaces, public roads and parks such as the Parque de L'Aigüera or the surrounding from Cala del Tio Ximo. An activity of knowledge, training and learning, "he added," that Benidorm is very pleased to host and that will also allow students and their families to get to know us a little better. "

Aura González, in turn, expressed her satisfaction that the Mathematical Educational Society chose Lope de Vega as the venue for this edition and what it represents for a center "committed to the dissemination of culture and the dissemination of mathematics as a science practice for daily life. "

On Saturday 25, from 10 o'clock in the morning, the individual and team tests will take place at the School and in the afternoon the tests will be retaken at l'Aigüera Park. Afterwards, all the participants will go to Cala del Tio Ximo.

On Sunday, all the tests will be resolved and the winners will be announced. They will be the 3 best students for each category (5th and 6th, 1st and 2nd, and 3rd and 4th of ESO). The winners of 2nd ESO will participate in the State Olympics this year held in Jaén.
