Jaime Jesús Pérez highlights the “sensitivity and expressiveness” of the works by the Basque artist

The City Hall’s Espai d’Art hosts the exhibition ‘Watercolours’ by Pilar Gamíndez until March 20

El Espai d’Art del Ayuntamiento acoge hasta el 20 de marzo la muestra ‘Acuarelas’ de Pilar Gamíndez

The Espai d’Art of Benidorm City Council will host until March 20 the exhibition ‘Watercolours’ by the painter Pilar Gamíndez, a Basque artist who spends a good part of the year in Benidorm and whose works reflect the landscape of the city, its light, streets and corners.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the artist herself and the Councillor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, who stressed that the artist “has linked her artistic production to the city” and that “she approaches painting and sculpture from figuration, although she also delves into abstract art”.

Pérez stressed that Gamíndez’s works reflect “great sensitivity, expressiveness and work” and stated that “her dedication to art has been constant since she began in the 1960s”. The artist underwent continuous and prolonged training over time, learning engraving, sculpture, drawing and painting techniques at the School of Arts and Crafts and Professor Gonzalo Bilbao's studio.

Her curriculum includes several individual and collective exhibitions in Vitoria and other towns such as Benidorm and Alfaz del Pi.
