The City Council prepares a plot of 9,000 m2 as free parking in Els Tolls

Benidorm City Council has put into service a new free parking area, adapted for public events, on a plot of 9,000 m2 of public ownership that borders the Regional Fire District Park, the European Community Avenue and the Bus Station . In this performance, the Department of Urban Scene has paved 2,800 m2 that are already available to users.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez and the councilman of Urban Scene, José Ramón González de Zárate, have toured the area this morning with the chief engineer of the City Council, Juan Carlos Galiano. In this same area, the new pedestrian bridge connecting Els Tolls with the educational and sports complex of the Salt de l'Aigua entered a few weeks ago and an intermodal station of the TRAM will soon be built.

The action consisted in the leveling of the land, which has been filled with a compacted layer of gravel, and its subsequent emulsion based on asphalt. Finally, it has tarred a large tongue about 20 meters wide in the form of ele. Precisely, in this same scene was commemorated last weekend, in the Regional Park of Firemen, the festival of San Juan de Dios, patron of the body. "We have waited," Toni Pérez said, "for that date to pass so as not to bother that important celebration, but now it is open to anyone who wants to park their car."

The mayor recalled that this new infrastructure will be implemented "with the management and construction of the new TRAM stop in substitution of the discotheques, right here at the height of the footbridge and the bridge of the Avenue of the European Community." An intervention that shows "the enormous vision of the Department of Urban Scene" and that "puts in value all these connections and communications" that "gives life to Els Tolls. A residential neighborhood that "is also transit for hundreds of schoolchildren who go to Salt de l'Aigua complex and hundreds of people who use the bus and the bus station".
