The City Council asks the population to avoid unnecessary travel, not use lifts, limit the use of 112 to situations of vital necessity, and seek information through official channels
The City Council closes municipal sports facilities from 4 p.m. following the activation of Emergency Situation 2

Benidorm City Council, in response to the activation of Situation 2 of the Territorial Emergency Plan by the Regional Government, has agreed to close municipal sports facilities from 4:00 p.m. until further notice, thus suspending all activities at these facilities.
In addition, it has again asked the local population to limit mobile and landline phone use, avoid unnecessary travel, limit use of the 112 service to life-saving emergencies, and refrain from refuelling unnecessarily to prevent a shortage of basic services. The public is also asked to seek information through official channels and networks.
The City Council has activated the Emergency Plan and convened the CECOPAL (National Emergency Coordination Committee) to coordinate the management of public services while the widespread blackout that has been in effect across the country since 12:30 p.m. today continues. The CECOPAL meeting and the activation of the Emergency Plan were held as soon as the Territorial Emergency Plan established by the Generalitat Valenciana for the entire Valencian Community was declared Situation 1. As previously mentioned, the plan is now Situation 2.
In the city, local police officers have been regulating traffic since the outset due to the lack of traffic lights.
