Brazilian students of a UA master's degree visit Benidorm to learn about their urban and water management model

15 May 2018
Estudiantes brasileños de un máster de la UA visitan Benidorm para conocer su modelo de gestión urbanística y del agua

Nearly thirty Brazilian students of the Master in Territory, Urbanism and Environmental Sustainability in the Framework of the Circular Economy, taught by the University Institute of Water and Environmental Sciences of the University of Alicante (UA), have visited Benidorm today in order to know how the city is planned urbanistically and how it manages a resource as vital as water.

The mayor, Toni Pérez, has welcomed these students, from the Court of Justice of Santa Catarina, who in addition to the City Council have also visited the Wastewater Treatment Plant (EDAR), the Drinking Water Treatment Station (ETAP) , the Dinapsis center, the Castle, the Paseo de Poniente and the archaeological site of El Tossal de La Cala.

In addition to welcoming them, the mayor has given the students a brief overview of the urban and tourist model of Benidorm.

Those responsible for the master's degree have explained that Benidorm has been chosen for this visit because it is "an example of sustainability in both urban planning and water management".
