Benidorm works to position itself as a reference destination in meeting tourism
Benidorm Tourism Foundation continues to work to turn the city into a reference destination for MICE tourism (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events). Therefore, in recent days he has carried out several promotional actions with which he seeks to publicize Benidorm's offer to business travel agents from all over Europe.
In the first place, Visit Benidorm participated last week in two workshops organized by Spain Convention Bureau and Turespaña in which they participated around thirty French travel agents specialized in meetings and incentives tourism.
One of these days was held during the afternoon of last Tuesday at the Intercontinental hotel in Lyon and eleven Spanish destinations and a fortnight of local buyers participated who could see first hand the offer that Benidorm can offer them for their upcoming events and company trips.
In order to capture a greater number of buyers, the Convention Bureau of Spain and the Spanish Tourism Office in Paris, opted for a different workshop format in which different tests and competitions were carried out in order to break the Ice between destinations and agencies.
An intense day of networking and face-to-face appointments of 3 min in which Visit Benidorm was able to interact with numerous MICE agents from Lyon who showed interest in the offer that Benidorm can offer for incentive groups, congresses, etc.
The second of the days was held in the French town of Toulouse and another fifteen local travel agents participated in it.
Undoubtedly the choice of cities has been a success, since today the Alicante airport has 13 weekly flights from Lyon, operated by Volotea and 59 weekly flights between Toulousse and Alicante through the Ryanair and Flip.
Finally, Benidorm is present this week in Valencia to participate in the Europe Congress, one of the most important annual meetings of tourism operators of meetings, incentives, congresses and events in Europe and which brings together about 200 professionals in the capital of Turia from twenty European countries.
With these three actions, the Foundation intends to continue positioning the city as an ideal destination for the tourist of congresses, incentives and events, a tourist profile of high purchasing power and that contributes favorably to seasonally adjust the city's tourist activity.
