This investment will go to projects such as EDUSI, Universal Accessibility, the industrial estate, excavations in El Tossal and El Castell, Red.es and the participatory budget

Benidorm will mark in 2019 a new ceiling on municipal investment with 9 million euros

19 December 2018
Benidorm marcará en 2019 un nuevo techo en la inversión municipal con 9 millones de euros

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, announced today that in 2019 "a new ceiling will be set in the investment with own municipal resources amounting to 9 million euros"; an investment that will be used for initiatives such as the Universal Accessibility project, the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI), the excavations at El Tossal in La Cala and El Castell; the Red.es program; the industrial estate and the Participatory Budget. And all this, he assured, "maintaining, with some increases, social spending and dedicated to services and activities for citizenship." P>

Perez has advanced this data in the traditional Christmas meeting with the media, in which he has clarified that the draft of the 2019 Budget is subject to several supra-municipal administrations specifying the amounts of investment to be made next year or resolve issues of its competence in matters such as EDUSI or the industrial estate. The mayor has clarified that if "these two issues" materialize shortly "we move a draft budget more tight," while if they are delayed "there will be a less adjusted document and with the conditions made by the technicians" already working in the 2019 accounts. p>

What it is already decided is that the City will provide 710,000 euros for the excavation and enhancement of the Castell; 280.00 euros to advance the musealization of the El Tossal site; one million to execute all the actions foreseen in the Universal Accessibility Plan; just over 804,000 euros to implement the Benidorm Destino Inteligente project through Red.es; and that the Participatory Budget will reach 450,000 euros, "almost doubling" the investment required by the Participation Regulations. In addition, the municipal contribution to the Visit Benidorm Foundation grows to 600,000 euros, 50,000 more than in 2018, and will include the amounts corresponding to multi-year projects already underway such as the Mediterranean avenue.
