Next Saturday, December 2, Benidorm City Council will host I 'Terra de Festes' Congress organized by the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP). The main cultural and festive organizations of the Valencian Community will take part in the event to share experiences and knowledge about the festivities and traditions of the Community as an economic engine and social cohesion of the Mediterranean people.

The congress will be inaugurated by the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, and the Minister of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Nuria Montes, will also be present; the president of the Alicante Provincial Council and mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; and the president of the FVMP, Rocío Cortés. Likewise, the general secretary of the FVMP, Miguel Bailach, and the general director of Culture, Sergio Arlandis, will attend. The conference will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will continue until 2:00 p.m.

Several objectives have been set for this event, among which the analysis of the festivals and traditions of the Community as an economic engine and its impact on local economies stands out; reflect on the role of festivals and traditions, intangible cultural assets, as elements of cultural identity and social cohesion; position the 'Terra de Festes' brand in the market and, consequently, the Community with its most notable festivals and traditions; and establish guidelines to internationalize them.

All the mayors of the Valencian Community are invited to the congress, as well as the councilors of Tourism and Festivals of the same. Likewise, representatives of the Advisory Commission of festivals and traditions of the Community will attend, such as the Interagrupación de Fallas, the Bonfires of San Juan, members of the Magdalena festival, representatives of the National Union of Festive Entities of Moors and Christians (UNDEF). ) and the Federation of Musical Societies of the Valencian Community (FSMCV).
