Benidorm tests the suitability of an electric bus in its urban transport network

Within the Energy Transition Project that Avanza Group develops at the national level, the city of Benidorm has been included so that through its urban conditions of layout, roads, road traffic, mobility conditions, geometry of transport lines, orographic level, disposition and climate, it is possible to test the vehicle, the technical feasibility of the provision of the service and the satisfaction of users and the company for the implementation of this type of driving technology, with zero vector emissions, in the device of urban transport networks.
The objective of the test is to know, in Benidorm, how this bus works, the driving conditions of a vehicle of this type and dimensions, the comfort of the customer who uses the service and the analysis of electricity consumption.
For the Councilor for Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate, this test means that "Benidorm, due to its characteristics, is in the group's objectives and that it offers an excellent testing ground to test this and other types of vehicles." Characteristics of the vehicle
It is a plug-in Electric Bus, Zero Emissions, Volvo 7900 model, with a very low interior and exterior acoustic level, powered by a 200 kW electric motor that offers 29 seats and also has two seats for users with reduced mobility. The motive power is provided by a system of lithium-ion technology batteries that make it possible to move, having limited the maximum speed to 80 km / h. A characteristic of the vehicle is that it has a regenerative braking process with which it recharges the batteries and one of the most anticipated tests is the level of autonomy that is achieved with these vehicles
