Benidorm Skyline Film Festival receives 300 short films
Three hundred short films aspire to be selected for the third edition of Benidorm Skyline Film Festival, which takes place in the city from April 4 to 7 and whose screenings will take place in the Culture Room of CAM Foundation. The deadline for submission of pieces was closed last week and the show's programmers are already viewing all the short films of animation, documentary, fiction that have been submitted to the contest and from which the 25 will be selected.
In the coming days, the organization will announce the name of the selected works that will compete for the prizes of this edition. Among the short films selected in the 2018 edition of the Benidorm festival was 'Madre' by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, work that competed this year in the Oscars career.
The Councilor for Culture, Ana Pellicer, and the director of the contest, Beatriz Hernández, recalled that "one of the hallmarks of the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival and that differentiates it from other festivals is that it works under the formula of payment by selection, in such a way that all the projected works will receive 200 euros ".
In addition to the payment for selection, the festival will give four awards: the best short film, which will receive 550 euros; and three prizes of 350 euros for the best Valencian short, the best documentary and for the best script. There is also a prize for the best short film made by students: a distribution bonus in charge of the Movibeta platform, which will allow them to send their work to national and international festivals
During the days of projection, the city will host parallel activities, such as workshops or master classes by professionals from the world of cinema.
