El equipo de Pilota Profesional de Benidorm visita el Ayuntamiento

Pilota Profesional team that represents Benidorm City Council in the thirty-first edition of Lliga CaixaBanc d'Escala i Corda, made up of Genovés II, Nacho and Álvaro Gimeno, has made a courtesy visit this morning to the Town Hall where they have been received by the mayor of the city, Toni Pérez.

The councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros, and the president of Fundació de Pilota Valenciana, Juan Alemuz, also participated in the meeting. In it, the development of the league led by Benidorm team, tied on points with those from Montserrat and La Pobla de Vallbona, and, of course, the next game in which they will defend the leadership against the team from Dénia that will be played on January 30, at Vicent Pérez Devesa pavillion in Benidorm.

Since the beginning of the competition, in 1991, with the birth of what was then called Circuit Bancaixa, Benidorm has always had, throughout its 31 editions, a professional team in the highest category of local sport.
Genovés II, son of the legendary Genovés, is, together with Pere Roc II from Benidorm, who has defended the colors of Benidorm the most times, proclaiming himself champion in the 2008, 2009 and 2010 editions; Pere Roc II, in those of 2017 and 2018.

This competition is the last in the Genovés II professional circuit. Last December he announced that he would retire when the season ends. Obtaining one last title is his objective, which would be the finishing touch to his award-winning and extensive professional career as an athlete.
