Benidorm presenta la II edición de la carrera solidaria ‘En Primera Línea’ para recaudar fondos contra el cáncer infantil

Benidorm will run for the second consecutive year to raise funds to support minors with cancer and their families in the II Solidarity Race 'On the Front Line', held on Sunday, September 22, starting at 9 a.m. The second edition of the sporting event was presented this morning and took place at the Mediterranean Casino in Benidorm in which representatives of the organization, the beneficiary entity and sponsors participated, along with the councillors of Sports and Public Service, Javier Jordá and Jesús Carrobles; the acting mayor, Ana Pellicer; and other members of the municipal Corporation.

The race will take place along the beaches of Benidorm and there will be different participation options, to reach the largest possible audience.

Specifically, there will be a test with a 10-kilometre route, another 5k, a popular march along the 5K route and children's races through l'Aigüera Park. As for the sports events, they will run opposite to last year, first running along Levante beach and, in the case of the 10K, also reaching Poniente.

In addition, attendees will enjoy a day with activities, entertainment, a solidarity bar and music. “A sporting, recreational and family day, where the solidarity of Benidorm and the entire region will be reflected once again since everything raised will go to benefit Aspanion,” explained Manuel Villalón, representative of the Sociocultural Association of the Police Local, organizer of the event together with the Clun Atletismo Benidorm.

The last edition of the 'En Primera Línea' race managed to raise more than 22,000 euros with the participation of 1,200 people. The organization has stated that "the challenge of organizing this second edition arose from the day of the event" and they have stated that this year they hope to exceed that figure and consolidate the sporting event "as an event that Benidorm always marks on the calendar.".

During the presentation of the solidarity event, Councilor Jesús Carrobles thanked the organizers for their commitment to carrying out this second edition and expressed his “satisfaction that actions like this bring our Local Police a little closer to the citizens because it is citizens must know that we also do other types of work in an altruistic way, such as supporting families affected by childhood cancer.” The mayor of Citizen Security has also conveyed his confidence that the test “will have the same success as last year”, in which 22,000 euros were raised in favour of Aspanion.

For his part, Javier Jordá has also said “thank you for having Benidorm again as the venue for this race” and recalled that “the meaning of 'front line' is threefold: the Local Police, which is on the front line; the route of the race itself, which runs along the beachfront; and above all our commitment and our fight on the front line against childhood cancer.” The head of Sports has highlighted that in this second edition “we continue to grow and have more sponsors” and has encouraged massive participation on September 22.

The representative of the Sociocultural Association of the Benidorm Local Police has indicated that "it is a pride to be able to organize this race for the second year in which Benidorm is once again turning its attention to supporting boys and girls with cancer and we hope it will be everything." exit".

For his part, the vice president of Aspanion, Alejandro López, thanked “all the support and affection received” and pointed out that “the fusion of sport and solidarity is a combination that we love to be able to continue serving families in the best possible way. and to minors, through projects that we launch from the moment of diagnosis.” Likewise, he has drawn attention to "the importance of talking about childhood cancer", recalling that "every year in the Valencian Community around 150 new cases are diagnosed, of which 20% do not come to fruition." For this reason, he has stressed that these types of solidarity events “help make this disease visible” and, at the same time, allow “funds to be developed to develop psychosocial programs” with children and adolescents with cancer and their families, to make available to them. shelter homes, or carry out other projects of this nature.
