Benidorm is organizing a new edition of the Summer School, which this year will be held at Miguel Hernández Primary School

The Parent-Teacher Association (AMPA) (FAMPA Marina Baixa), in collaboration with the Benidorm City Council's Department of Education, has organized a new edition of the "Summer School," which this year will run from July 1st to August 29th at the Miguel Hernández public school, located at the intersection of the Foietes and La Cala neighborhoods. This "Summer School" is aimed at children aged 3 to 14 and offers families "a safe, recreational alternative where they can take their children during the school holidays to help balance their work and family life," explained the Councillor for Education, Maite Moreno.
Moreno reported that "the registration period will be open until June 22nd, although it will be extended until July 14th for families interested in registering their children only for the month of August." In addition, a reduced rate is offered to families who complete the application before June 8th. The councilor also indicated that, once again this year, "the City Council, through the Department of Education, will subsidize part of the cost of the 'Summer School' for all families registered in Benidorm, up to a maximum amount of 50%," while "the Department of Social Welfare will cover the costs of attendance and the dining service for students from families with significant financial difficulties." Also, through this Department, an integrated classroom will be set up at the school.
During their stay at the 'Summer School,' students will participate in various activities, such as crafts, games, and music, as well as go on outings and excursions, all tailored to the age group of each group. There will also be places reserved for children with specific needs.
The school's regular hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, although to "make it as easy as possible for families who need it to balance work and family life," extended hours will be offered both early and late. Thus, there will be a morning school service at 7:45 a.m., while afternoon school will run from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will also be an optional lunch service between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The price per student is €175 per month for members of Parent-Teacher Associations (AMPAs) and €195 per month for non-members who register before June 8th. For those who register after June 8th, the prices will increase to €200 and €220 per month, respectively. In that case, the price per fortnight will be 100 euros for members and 120 euros for non-members until June 8, and 125 and 245 euros after that date.
Regarding the "extra" services, the price of the "morning" school is 40 euros per month for members and 45 euros for non-members; and 25 euros for members and 30 euros for non-members of the AMPA (Parents' Association) if they register for a fortnight. Finally, the "afternoon" school price for members is 45 euros per month and 35 euros per fortnight, while for non-members the cost will be 50 and 40 euros, respectively.
The dining room service also costs 5.90 euros per day.
Registration is open and must be completed online at https://trokolo.com/inscripcionveranobenidorm/. Councillor Maite Moreno emphasised that "once again this year, we are organising a school with the Parents' Associations (AMPAS) to accommodate children and families who need this service during the summer holidays." She also noted that, in addition to this Summer School, which hundreds of girls and boys attend each year, throughout this month we have also launched the 'Afternoon School' and the 'June School' to meet the different needs of families and facilitate their work-life balance."
