Benidorm organizes the second Urban Art Day in Foietes Park auditorium

Foietes Park auditorium will host the second edition of the Urban Art Day this coming Saturday, organised by the City Council for Historical and Cultural Heritage and Beaches. The day will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and various interventions have been organised for the occasion, according to Ana Pellicer, Councillor for Historical Heritage.

This includes an artistic activity involving beach furniture and trash can decoration. Unlike last year, "this time it won't be a contest, but rather the winner of the first edition will be the main event." There will also be a cap customisation workshop, for which the City Council will provide fifty caps for attendees and participants to customise with their designs. There will also be dance performances by students from the Boogie Block Urban Dance School, which was already very popular last year.

Throughout the day, there will also be a speaker entertaining the audience and participants and outlining the various activities organised for the event. Participants will also receive a gift related to the 700th anniversary of the granting of the Carta Pobla to Benidorm (a bag containing a chocolate bar, a 700th anniversary postcard, and an auca by Bernat de Sarrià), and there will be urban music throughout the day.

Ana Pellicer stated that the intention behind this event is "not only to attract urban artists to Benidorm but also to promote urban culture in all its breadth and involve all those who wish to capture their work in urban elements and exhibit them to the public."

The councillor added that this Urban Art Day "is another part of the project we are carrying out to turn the city into an open-air museum open to all types of artists, so that Benidorm as a whole becomes a great exhibition space." Finally, Pellicer emphasised that the day "was born to stay, and that's why we will continue to promote it with new projects and activities with each edition."
