The Department of Education has opened the registration period for the Summer Educational Support Program (PAEV), aimed at Primary students, which has 90 places and will be held for another year at CEIP Leonor Canalejas facilities. The acting Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, recalled that "through this program, reinforcement is offered to students who during the course have not obtained the expected academic results with the aim that they can start the next one in the best conditions."

The PAEV classes and pedagogical activities will begin on July 3 and finish on August 27. As usual, two shifts will be established. The first, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., students from the 2nd, 4th and 6th year will participate; from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. it will be the turn of 1st, 3rd and 5th-year students.

In those two hours of class daily from Monday to Friday, students in each course will reinforce curricular subjects - such as Mathematics, Spanish Language, Valencian and English -, and will work on study techniques.

Registration for the PAEV is open until June 26 in the Education Department, located on the third floor of the City Hall, in the Plaza SSMM Reyes de España. The general price of the program is 74.67 euros, although there are reduced prices for large families, single parents, people with functional diversity, foster families, or parents or guardians with a Youth Card, retirees or pensioners. In addition, attendance at the PAEV will be free for large or special single-parent families or those with functional diversity greater than 33%.

Moreno has indicated that "as in previous editions, the Department of Education will grant a maximum of 30 individualized grants that will cover 100% of the cost of the program." The granting of this aid will be measured by income and scale criteria and can be requested until June 14 and the list of beneficiaries will be published five days later. Likewise, the program will be free for families benefiting from regulated economic income or with a comparable benefit.

The councillor stressed that "both the price discounts and the scholarships are aimed exclusively at families registered in Benidorm."
