Benidorm abre el calendario navideño con la inauguración de la Plaza de la Navidad

Benidorm has opened its Christmas calendar today with the inauguration of its traditional Christmas Square, which once again has been located at SSMM Reyes de España Square and in which until next January 6 there will be attractions for the little ones , an ice rink and musical performances of children's characters, among other activities. At 18.30 hours, the countdown has begun to welcome Christmas, which has been followed by the lighting of the Square and a show based on the movie ‘Aladdin’.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; the Councilor for Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles; and members of the Municipal Corporation have attended the inauguration of the Christmas Square, the first act of 'BeniNadal' among the numerous public and the Queens of the Festes Majors Patronals, Marina Carrillo and Paula Mayor, and their court of honor. While the activity continues, the programming of the Christmas Square will take place from Friday to Sunday, and will be extended to every day of the week in the morning and afternoon when the children start their school holidays.

With the Christmas Square already open, the programming of 'BeniNadal' has its next appointment next Friday, December 6, with the inauguration of the Christmas lighting and the new Christmas House, which will be located in Hort Museum of Colon and where theatrical and magic performances, storytelling, dances, animations, and workshops of 'swing', theater or crafts are planned. In addition, the Monumental Bethlehem made by the Association ‘Amics del Betlem’ of Benidorm will be installed in the Christmas House, and a collection of more than 200 microbethlehems will be exhibited.

On December 6, a Bethlehem of Playmobil of almost 1,000 pieces will be inaugurated in l’Espai d’Art del Ayuntamiento and on Sunday the 8th the traditional Bethlehem of the ACR La Barqueta will be opened, at the headquarters of the entity.

Special events such as ‘la Nit de Nadal’, the New Year’s Eve celebration or the Three Wise Men Parade will be added to this program.

Likewise, on the sports level, also at these Christmas dates, the Pilota Valenciana Nadal Trophy ‘Memorial Vicent Pérez Devesa’ will be held; and the XI Christmas Children's Sports Fair, the XLVI Nautical Christmas and the traditional San Silvestre will be held.

As in previous years, the Independent Association of Merchants (AICO) will set the Gambo street with Christmas themes from December 6 to January 6; while Elche Park will host the Christmas Market, from this Sunday until January 6.
