The procedures related to the Municipal Register of Inhabitants were the most in-demand in the five municipal offices, accounting for 93% of the activity

Benidorm Municipal Branches carried out more than 66,000 procedures and services in 2024

24 February 2025
Extensión administrativa de Maravall

The municipal administrative extensions of Benidorm carried out 62,665 procedures and services to citizens last year, according to the 2024 activity report of these municipal offices. The councillor responsible for them, Mónica Gómez, recalled that Benidorm “has five citizen service offices distributed in five strategic areas of the city, to bring the Administration as close to our neighbours as possible”.

Specifically, they are located in the neighbourhoods of La Cala (c/ Secretaría Juan Antonio Baldoví, 2); Foietes-Colonia Madrid (Av. Beniardá, 61); Rincón de Loix (Av. Juan Fuster Zaragoza, 1); Els Tolls-Salt de l’Aigüa (Av. Andalucía, 9) and Alfredo Corral-Maravall-Plaza de España (c/ Maravall, 33).

The services and procedures carried out can be divided into four categories. On the one hand, those related to the Municipal Register of Inhabitants, which were the most numerous by far, accounted for 92.45% of the activity. Next, some required Entry Records in the different municipal areas (5.25%), the procedures that did not require registration (1.89%) and, finally, the management of fees (0.41%).

In absolute figures, the procedures related to the Statistics and Population Area – including the register of inhabitants- amounted to 53,791 services. More than 2,143 procedures were registered in the different municipal areas and another 1,831 had to do with the General Register of documents through electronic headquarters, while a total of 219 were included in procedures such as registration in sports campaigns or others. The administrative extensions also processed 241 procedures related to the payment of municipal taxes. It is noteworthy that 4,300 services were provided to citizens who needed a certificate of life, as well as to make suggestions, complaints or requests for information of any kind.

As for the offices, the one that registered the most activity was the Rincón de Loix office, which attended 22,484 procedures requested by citizens. The second one with the highest volume was the Foietes-Colonia Madrid administrative extension with 15,393 services. It was followed by the Alfredo Corral-Maravall-Plaza de España office, with 9,433 services; Els Tolls-Salt de l’Aigüa office with 8,027 and La Cala office with 7,238.

Councillor Mónica Gómez has expressed her “satisfaction” with the results of the activity report “because this high number of actions shows that it is necessary to keep the local Administration close to the citizens and help them with their procedures in their neighbourhood without having to travel to the Town Hall”.

The Municipal Branches are “the administration closest to the residents” and in them, she recalled, “almost any management can be carried out”. The councillor has pointed out that the Town Hall will continue to maintain this commitment “because the results and the reception of the citizens are proving us right”.
