Benidorm joins the campaign 'I like my market' to highlight the commerce of quality and proximity

25 May 2017
Benidorm se suma a la campaña ‘Me gusta mi mercado’ para resaltar el comercio de calidad y proximidad

Benidorm City Council, through the Department of Commerce, has joined the international campaign to support municipal markets, which since 2012 has been organized by the World Union of Wholesale and Retail Markets (WUWM), that this year has been developed under the motto 'Love your local Markets', baptized in our country as 'I like my market' and coordinated nationally by the public company Mercasa. Its main objective is to highlight the importance of quality and proximity commerce, and its relationship with the commercial and food culture of our municipality.

The campaign consists of an action to promote municipal markets, simultaneously in more than 30 countries of America, Asia and Europe during the month of May involving more than 3,000 facilities with the aim of enhancing the role of food commerce in cities. This coordinated action has consisted in the distribution of promotional material in markets in urban spaces, web pages and social networks. Benidorm has been advertising and marketing in the markets Municipal, April, and El Cruce

The World Union of Wholesale and Retail Markets is a non-profit organization based in the Netherlands and dedicated to the promotion, development and exchange of experiences and information on food markets. It started its activity in 1958 and has around 200 associates in 44 countries
